EGTV: Industry attacks ‘vague’ party promises

 
Plans for regeneration and development put forward by all three main parties are “vague” and “blustering”, according to agents and principals in Manchester and Leeds.

 

Despite little support for any party’s property pledges, professionals in Manchester thought their Labour-led city council had taken a proactive stance in promoting development.

And in Leeds, city council leader Andrew Carter said he believed that Conservative policies would speed up the planning system.

 

An Estates Gazette online poll of EGi subscribers came out overwhelmingly in favour of a Tory government, with 60% of the vote.

 

The Liberal Democrats came second with 26.7% and Labour took third place with 12.5%.

 

Votes were cast between 20 and 27 April.

 

The latest poll by The Sun/YouGov found a more even split, with the Tories on 34%, LibDems on 31% and Labour on 27%.
