Monday
The latest UK house price data from Halifax will be revealed. In August, the average house price rose by 4.3% year-on-year to £292,505, the strongest rate since November 2022, but this is due in large part to the comparison with weaker growth this time last year. Month-on-month growth was 0.3%.
Tuesday
Southwark Council is expected to make a decision with regards to the future of a 216-bed co-living scheme in Canada Water, SE16. It will also discuss Soco Real Estate and Blue Coast Capital’s plans for a mixed-use scheme comprising two buildings on the site of the existing three-storey City Business Centre.
British Land’s proposed urban logistics scheme, close to Old Kent Road, SE16, will also be on the table. The FTSE 100-listed REIT is looking to demolish the existing buildings and replace them with a block of up to four storeys, measuring 246,000 sq ft.
Wednesday
Brewing and pub retailing business Marston’s will update the market on its performance following the sale of a portfolio of 18 freehold UK pubs last month.
Tower Hamlets’ planning committee is expected to finally shed a light on the future of the Whitechapel Road Life Sciences Cluster, E1. The decision was expected to be made at a planning committee meeting in August but was deferred following a request for a site visit amid concerns raised by local residents about the massing of the buildings, provision of green space and public access.
And an office-to-resi conversation at Harbour Exchange, E14, is set for its third planning run, having been deferred twice this year. Developers Gaw Capital and City & Docklands have addressed the concerns raised, with the scheme being recommended for approval by the planning officers.
Thursday
Norwich Council is poised to choose the best option for the City Hall revamp. The report sets out opportunities to refurbish the Grade II listed historic building to provide better public access, fit-for-purpose council office space, grade-A lettable space and event and conference opportunities. The second option would go a step further by adding an extension to the rear for office, hotel or residential use, a new courtyard to the rear and improvements to the public spaces around City Hall.
Leeds City Council has been recommended to defer Cheyne’s £80m Mabgate Yard scheme and refer it to the chief planning officer for determination. The move comes amid concerns over the potential for noise complaints from future residents as the proposed development sits opposite Hope House, occupied by MAP Charity, which hosts cultural events.
Friday
