In unprecedented times innovation is often the only answer. This is certainly the approach the tech and real estate sectors are taking in response to the current situation we are all in, and EG had no qualms stepping up to do the same when we were planning the third annual EG Tech Awards, which took place on 10 September.
It seemed fitting that our first-ever virtual awards event should be focused on all things tech. And what an occasion it was.
We wanted to give our winners and finalists a ceremony worthy of their incredible achievements over the past 12 months, and thanks to the unfaltering engagement and support from everyone involved – from our entrants to the wider industry and from the team here at EG to our partners – we made it happen.
There can be no question that we all miss real-life events and interaction. But our virtual stage was a rather epic, and necessary, alternative in these very challenging times. There were some plus points too as we were able to host a more international audience at this year’s event thanks to the online platform, and the opportunity for our guests to network spanned a number of virtual bars before and after the ceremony itself.
In what has been a challenging year, the chance to celebrate digital innovation was a reminder that there is still much to be inspired and encouraged by within the sector. We were inundated with entries for this year’s Tech Awards, which is testament to the businesses, organisations and individuals pushing ahead with new ideas to transform and improve the industry.
A huge thank you to everyone who made the event happen and to our partners for taking a massive leap of faith with us as we forged ahead with a new format and a new approach. Congratulations to all of our winners, and we can’t wait to see everyone again next year.
