EG Awards: the next stage of quality

EG-Awards-570The entry deadline for the EG Awards is looming – just two weeks remain for firms and individuals to put themselves in contention for a gong.

The final date for entry submissions is 1 April. And the performance period has now been extended from 28 February 2015 to 31 March 2016, so it is easier to pack more accomplishments into your entries and showcase your firm’s outstanding financial achievements.

Submitting an entry will put you and your company in the running to star in one of the biggest real estate events of the year, in front of the top personalities and organisations in the industry.

Grab their attention by winning an award and you could be on your way to making your next deal.

Five of the awards categories – Rising Star, Collaborators, The Next Big Thing, EG London Award and Outstanding Contribution – have a separate entry deadline of 30 June (see below).

And, as ever, the calibre of the judges for all the awards will be second to none. Estates Gazette is bringing together some of the most influential and experienced industry professionals to consider all of the entries and determine the ones whose performance stands out.

Just making the shortlist will mark an individual or company as one of property’s elite players.

All the awards will be announced at what promises to be a spectacular EG Awards night on the evening of 20 September at London’s Grosvenor House hotel. A bigger venue, an award date earlier in the calendar and a host of new categories demonstrate Estates Gazette’s commitment to paying tribute to the best, most innovative and ambitious performers in real estate.

The following two awards have a nomination deadline of 30 June, and winners will be selected by the EG editorial team. Individuals and companies can nominate only other parties, not themselves. Submit your nomination to Carly McGowan at carly.mcgowan@estatesgazette.com

New categories

Three new categories arrive to grace this year’s EG Awards list. Winners will be decided by separate judging panels and recognised at the EG Awards on 20 September. Entries must be submitted via the EG Awards website.

Rising Star Award

A category for the industry’s fresh blood – the formidable under-35s who come from either a traditional property background or a non-property background. They could be a digital disruptor, the most up-and-coming dealmaker in a team, an entrepreneur or the next big thing in the agency world. Wherever they come from, whatever they do, they must be making an impact on property now.

Anyone shortlisted for this award will automatically become one of EG Rising Stars of 2016.

The Collaborators Award

In association with Mishcon de Reya, U&I and supported by New London Architecture and RICS

A new gong for the EG Awards, this category recognises the individuals or organisations that have worked in partnership to create something bigger than the sum of its parts. Entries can be two people working together, or two billion. It could be two companies merging, local councils coming together to form super-councils and regional powerhouses, or an integration of art and design to deliver a collaborative scheme. It could also involve the use of technology to create more collaborative workspaces. Entrants will need to demonstrate meaningful collaboration from all parties and show how their collaboration has influenced the built environment.

The Next Big Thing Award

Supported by Cluttons

An accolade that will be marketed worldwide, this award will go to the person or entity whose idea could transform the thousands of shanty towns, slums, urban settlements and townships around the world into legitimate, sanitary, and productive new communities. The ideas can be as creative and forward thinking as the mind, technology and resources will allow, but the panel of global judges will be making their choice with regard to practicality and feasibility
as well.
