Edinburgh police have set up a tolerance zone for prostitutes after residents complained about a red light district on their doorstep.
The women have been told to move about half a mile to an industrial estate near the docks of Leith in a move that follows talks between police and the council, and residents concerned about the effect on the area and house prices.
It is thought to be the first such zone in Britain, although similar measures have been taken in Holland and Australia.
