A huge swathe of Landsec’s Ebbsfleet Garden City in Kent, which will see the development of 6,250 homes, has been granted planning consent.
The proposed development for Eastern Quarry is the biggest considered by Ebbsfleet Development Corporation’s planning committee and will see three villages created across an area 1.5 miles wide.
The plans also include a large education campus with both secondary and primary schools. One-third of the development area will be open space.
Ian Piper, chief executive at Ebbsfleet Development Corporation, said: “We are determined to create a great place for people to live within the Garden City and we will continue to work with all the developers to ensure the highest-quality development is now delivered.
“The Development Corporation will invest further in key pieces of infrastructure, including an upgraded public transport network with dedicated routes for buses – meaning the majority of residents living in Eastern Quarry will be within a five-minute walk of a bus stop – giving great connections across and through the Garden City.”
