A record rent for Clerkenwell has been achieved by DTZ Investors at 80 Clerkenwell Road, EC1.
Tile supplier Solus Ceramics has agreed a deal to take the ground floor showroom for £113 per sq ft and £55 per sq ft for the lower ground office accommodation with no rent free.
The high rent achieved is understood to be due to the prime corner location of the 12,624 sq ft property and limited availability of central London showroom space.
Following a redevelopment of the building, it has now been fully let with rents of up to £72.50 per sq ft achieved for the upper floors. Tenants also include Breather, Trustly, TNS and 21 Construction.
DTZ Investors acquired the building from Croudace Properties for £7.5m in December 2014.
