Drake-backed chicken chain to launch in London

Celebrity-backed US restaurant chain Dave’s Hot Chicken has tasked a UK agency with helping it find its first London sites – part of plans to open 60 outlets nationwide.

The chain, backed by rapper Drake, actor Samuel L Jackson and singer Usher, has signed a franchise deal with Azzurri Group, a hospitality investment firm, to roll out the brand in the UK. KLM Real Estate is now seeking restaurant sites in central London ranging from 2,000 sq ft to 3,000 sq ft.

The chain has grown to more than 200 sites globally since it was founded in 2017. In the UK it joins an Azzurri portfolio that includes chains Zizzi, Ask Italian, Coco di Mama and Boojum.

Oli Marcroft of KLM Real Estate said: “Having had the pleasure of experiencing [Dave’s] restaurants in LA earlier this year, we can’t wait to see the magic arrive in London”.
