Dominus and Whitbread are set to receive planning approval for their £200m office and student accommodation scheme at One Medlock Street in Manchester.
The proposed plans include demolishing the existing five-storey Premier Inn hotel and the development of 387,500 sq ft of flexible, grade-A offices, as well as a 1,014-bed PBSA scheme that will be located next to the office development.
The site is within walking distance of the University of Manchester and Manchester Metropolitan University campuses.
The scheme is in the city council’s First Street Development Framework area and forms part of the city’s Southern Gateway.
The development will also include a landscaped “pocket park” and rain garden, while “green streets” will connect the site to the wider First Street regeneration area.
Once completed, One Medlock Street will provide space for 2,200 office workers and contribute £1.6m per year in business rates.
The scheme is set to be approved at a Manchester City Council planning meeting next week.
