Derwent London will make 16 furnished flats at its newly completed development in Fitzrovia free for University College Hospital.
As part of the company’s support for the NHS during the Covid-19 pandemic, the flats at 80 Charlotte Street, W1, will be used by the teaching hospital for the rest of the year.
The initiative is one of several measures Derwent is making to support the local community through its Fitzrovia and West End Community Fund.
80 Charlotte Street, Derwent’s largest development, comprises 321,000 sq ft of offices, 45,000 sq ft of residential, of which 10,000 sq ft is affordable, and 14,000 sq ft of retail. Office tenants include Boston Consulting Group, Arup Group and Elliott Wood.
The building is Derwent’s first “all-electric” site and first net-zero carbon development, with heating and cooling provided by air source heat pumps powered by electricity from renewable sources.
