The new owners of restaurant group D&D London want to return to expansion.
Calverton and Breal Capital plans to buy the company, created by the late Sir Terence Conran in 1991, in a deal valuing D&D at about £60m.
Despite the recent closure of seven smaller, uneconomic sites, the group still has more than 40 restaurants and bars, with one hotel in London and sites in Manchester, Leeds, Paris and New York.
Calverton, which owns the Byron burger chain, and Breal, which recently bought Vinoteca and Black Sheep Brewery, said it wanted to return the group to expansion “both in the UK and internationally”.
