This year’s Cycle to MIPIM, sponsored by Knight Frank, was anything but an easy ride.
Snow stopped play on the first day of the ride as 85 property cyclists were forced to abandon their bikes and bus it down to Folkestone for the first time in the ride’s history.
But an easy-on-the-legs first day was soon forgotten as torrential downpours and ferocious winds battered the cyclists as they wove their way through northern France on the seven-day journey down to Cannes for MIPIM.
Focused on raising as much money as possible for the Club Peloton charities – Coram, Cyclists Fighting Cancer, MSA Trust and Tom’s Trust – the riders battled winds that forced the pro riders to abandon a day of the Paris-Nice race.
Rain eventually gave way to sunshine as the riders reached the hills of the south. The wind remained but the cyclists worked hard together to arrive in Cannes on Tuesday, 14 March. So far, the cyclists have raised more than £200,000 but are keen to raise much more.
