CWM managing partner dies unexpectedly

John Miles, managing partner of the investment team at specialist retail agency CWM, has died unexpectedly.

Miles, known in the industry as “Milesy”, died while on holiday on Greece last Friday. He was 53.

Miles had more than 30 years’ experience in the investment brokerage market, beginning his career at Clive Lewis & Partners, before moving to Auguste Thouard in Paris and Chase & Partners. He co-founded the CWM investment department in 2007.

CWM said Miles was “an incredible leader and a highly respected surveyor within the industry. He was loved and admired by colleagues, peers and clients alike”.

The firm added: “Milesy will be missed enormously, he was such a powerful personality and a larger-than-life character and dear friend. Our thoughts are with his family at this very difficult time.”

He is survived by his wife Lizzie and daughter Georgia.
