C&W appoints Ogden as head of London markets

Cushman & Wakefield has promoted partner Toby Ogden to head of London markets.

Since joining the firm’s graduate scheme in 2006, Ogden, 34, has advised some of the world’s largest companies on their real estate strategies in London.

Some of his deals in the past three years include securing new headquarters for Apple (500,000 sq ft at Battersea Power Station); Facebook (250,000 sq ft at One Rathbone Square, W1); and Dentsu Aegis Media (prelet of 312,000 sq ft at Regent’s Place). All were record deals, with the latter the largest letting in the West End in more than 20 years.

Ogden, promoted to international partner in 2016, has combined this with leading the firm’s transformation team across EMEA, setting up specific strategic projects to improve operational effectiveness, develop its digital offering and enhance the level of insight drawn from data.

Prior to focusing on London, he spent six years advising businesses on their estates across EMEA and APAC, delivering advice in more than 25 countries.

He replaces George Roberts, who has been promoted to head of UK & Ireland.

Cushman & Wakefield’s London markets division comprises occupier representation, leasing, capital markets, residential, development and healthcare teams – all operating across the capital as a whole, rather than the traditional City and West End model.

Ogden said: “The opportunity to lead our fantastic London business is one I am really excited to be taking on.

“Our market-leading teams have some of the most experienced and insightful professionals in London.

“Our ability to act as a single London team is driving real value for our clients.

“However, their needs are changing and the way we support them must respond.”

Roberts said: “Toby has thrived with added responsibility at every stage of his career.

“You don’t get to work with the clients he advises without a special talent for understanding business and people, backed up with genuine insight and an exceptional record of delivery.”
