Curzon to take star billing at Kingston’s Bentall Centre

Curzon Cinemas will anchor the new leisure and dining offer at the Bentall Centre, Kingston upon Thames.

Curzon has agreed a deal with Aviva Investors for a 25-year lease for 14,731 sq ft across three floors for a four-screen cinema, rooftop bar and restaurant, expected to open in autumn 2019.

The deal is the latest move in Aviva Investors’ strategy to modernise and reposition the Bentall Centre, increasing the leisure offering.

The centre houses 75 consumer and leisure brands and is anchored by the Fenwick-operated Bentalls department store.

Curzon is the latest in a series of brands to move in or expand their existing space at the centre, with West Elm, NYX and The Entertainer all opening new stores in December.

Simon Green, director at Aviva Investors Real Estate, said: “Curzon Cinemas will be a major pull for the centre, adding to the great mix of retail and leisure brands already trading in the asset.”

Curzon chief executive Philip Knatchbull said: “When deciding where to open new cinemas, Kingston was a priority destination.”
