Corby shopping centre signs B&M

Discount retailer B&M is preparing to open at Corby Town Shopping & Willow Place in Northamptonshire having signed a 10-year lease.

B&M will take 40,242 sq ft at 1 Queens Square and is due to open on 31 October.

The signing follows leasing deals with Cards Direct and Boyle Sports, both of which are due to open by the end of the year. The centre’s occupancy now stands at 95%.

With an annual footfall of 8m, the Corby centre has more than 150 shops, bars and restaurants. Primark and TK Maxx are the anchor tenants.

Northdale Asset Management and Magnetar Capital acquired the 740,000 sq ft shopping centre for £76m in 2022.

Sovereign Centros acts as asset manager and is advised by Wright Silverwood and Knight Frank.

Tom Nuttall, asset manager at Sovereign Centros, said: “Following a proactive leasing strategy, B&M’s new anchor store, in addition to other significant lettings, further positions Corby as a vibrant hub for residents and visitors.”
