Colliers has revealed a 14% disability pay gap in its latest pay gap report.
It is the first time the business has revealed the figure alongside both its gender pay gap and ethnicity pay gap.
The 14% disability pay gap, figures for which are based on responses to a Colliers employee questionnaire which is currently completed by 49% of staff, is an improvement on 2023’s figures, moving in by 3.1 percentage points.
It is the “best” pay gap between the three protected characteristics, with a gender pay gap of 31.1% – a narrowing of 1.4 percentage points year-on-year – and an ethnicity pay cap of 24.9% – a 1.9 point widening year-on-year.
Colliers said the growth in its ethnicity pay gap reflected the challenges it and the wider real industry had in achieving equity for individuals from diverse ethnic backgrounds, particularly in senior positions.
Lydia Ings, human resources director for Colliers in the UK, said: “This year’s pay gap report is a significant milestone for us, reflecting our ongoing journey towards true equity and inclusion. By voluntarily reporting on ethnicity and expanding this to include disability data, we are taking a bold step forward in transparency and accountability.”
She added: “While we acknowledge that our data set is still growing, with only 49% of our UK employees having completed all fields in our demographic questionnaire, we believe it is crucial to start this conversation now. Our pay gap reporting each year serves as a helpful catalyst for meaningful action, driving us to create a workplace where diversity is not just welcomed, but actively cultivated and celebrated.”
Outgoing chief executive Tony Horrell said: “At Colliers, we’re not just about numbers and reports. We’re about people – our clients, our employees and the communities we serve. This report affirms our commitment to a workplace that celebrates diversity and allows everyone to thrive, regardless of their background or experiences.”
