Oxford-based asset manager Collegiate AC is aiming to raise up to £2bn to expand its student accommodation portfolio in Europe.
Collegiate is searching for new investment partners to raise this capital.
The asset manager has more than 20 developments across the UK, Spain and Portugal, with schemes typically ranging from €35m (£30.2m) to €100m in gross development value. In total it manages assets amounting to nearly £2bn.
Eri Cuanalo, chief executive of Collegiate, said: “We are experiencing an unprecedented demand for high-quality student accommodation across Europe and are now actively seeking strategic investment partners to capitalise on this by extending our high-performing portfolio.
“We have opportunities for a wide range of investors from across the risk spectrum looking for exposure to the PBSA market.”
As part of its growth strategy, Collegiate is also actively seeking to acquire standing and cash-generating assets.
It cited estimates from Savills that around 50,000 purpose-built student accommodation beds, valued at £5.25bn, were traded in 2018.
