A former school on a one-acre site in Dartford, Kent, has been sold by Clive Emson Auctioneers for almost £1.3m in a bidding war.
Attracting 217 bids, the Rosemary Centre, on Dartford’s High Road, fetched more than double its guide price of £500,000.
A total of 149 lots across southern England were up for auction, raising £19m in total.
Also going under the hammer at the sale was a barn at Eynsford, near Dartford, with planning permission for conversion into two residences, which sold for £779,000 and a detached house at 27 Blackheath, near Colchester city centre in Essex, which went for £325,500 – some £50,000 above guide.
Twenty-four residential garages in Epsom, Surrey, along with an access driveway, sold for £222,000, while 13 residential garages in Andover, Hampshire, were acquired for £78,000.
Clive Emson’s next auction begins on 10 June and runs until 12 June.
