Clarion Housing Group’s Latimer division has bought the Cocoa Works factory in York.
Private sale arm Latimer intends to convert the site into 258 for sale apartments with a total GDV of £77m.
The factory on the Haxby Road has been derelict for around a decade after Nestlé relocated to alternative premises.
Richard White, land director for Latimer, said: “Our ambitious plans will re-invigorate an iconic York building and, at the same time, bring much-needed, high-quality homes to the city.”
