The City of London Corporation is expected to gain consent to demolish and rebuild the Sydenham Hill Estate, SE26.
Lewisham Council is recommended to approve City Corp’s plans for 110 homes at Mais House and Otto Close, at the committee on 27 August.
The committee will debate the strategic development following 209 objections during consultation.
Proposals would see a building of up to seven storeys on a 3.3-acre plot of land, which makes up around half the estate, with the other half comprising the 1950s housing at Lammas Green.
It will replace a vacant block of 63 sheltered flats designed for people aged 60 and over at Mais House, and 30 maisonettes at Otto Close.
The new development from Hawkins\Brown will provide 100% social rented housing.
City Corp is a social landlord with 12 housing estates in London comprising more than 2,000 homes. It has a target to deliver 3,700 new homes on sites across the capital by 2025.
