China’s Hengli Investments Holding has completed the acquisition of Lloyds’ Banking Group’s headquarters at 25 Gresham Street, EC2, for around £160m.
The bank has agreed a 20-year lease at the 119,742 sq ft office building. The deal is the Hong Kong investor’s first purchase in the UK. Hengli is based in Wujiang, a suburb of Suzhou, and is traditionally involved in the manufacture of fabrics.
CBRE was appointed by Lloyds in August to seek offers for the building on a sale-and-leaseback basis.
Savills advised Hengli.
