Knight Frank’s Julian Evans has climbed Europe’s highest mountain, Mount Elbrus in Russia. The trip followed his summit of Mount Everest’s North Col in April. Evans completed the round trip up Elbrus in 14.5 hours in temperatures of -20°C. The expedition was sponsored by Caring Homes and raised funds for the Matt Hampson Foundation, which supports individuals injured through sport.
DofE offers industry a weekend of adventure
If you thought your chance to take part in a Duke of Edinburgh Award adventure had passed you by, fear not. This year the charity is for the first time running an outdoor adventure for adults only and is calling on the property industry to put forward teams or individuals.
The adventure is a hiking and camping weekend in the Peak District that will see participants take on a one- or two-day hike of 25-50km on 30 September and 1 October with an overnight stay at base camp.
Base camp will provide tents, hot showers, a marquee, bar, campfires and entertainment.
Delancey and Montagu Evans have already put forward teams for the challenge.
Andrew Munnis, head of Scotland at Montagu Evans, said: “Montagu Evans is passionate about developing young people, as is the DofE, and we are keen to do what we can to support this fantastic cause.“
Registration costs from as little as £85 with a fundraising target of £150 for the one-day adventure and £110 and a £200 fundraising target for the two-day challenge.
