The EG team, becoming increasingly alarmed by the length of its publisher’s beard during lockdown, breathed a huge sigh of relief on Friday when a new set of clippers arrived by courier at the Wild household.
This surprise delivery during EG’s end-of-week online team meeting led to the promise of a live-streamed broadcast of the removal of eight weeks’ growth of hair – carried out by his daughter – and the promise of donations to LandAid.
Meanwhile, the LandAid Covid-19 Emergency Fund has now raised more than £700,000 and been supported by the following companies: Allsop, BCLP, BNP Paribas, CLS, Grosvenor, Helical, KF, Landsec, Logicor, M&G, Picton, Prologis, Savills, SEGRO and Simmons & Simmons.

Argyll Club’s hop, skip and jump for Felix
Inspired by the fundraising activities of Captain Tom Moore, The Argyll Club is hoping to clock up 24,888 miles in exercise through its “London 2 London” fundraising initiative.
Employees and their families and friends will walk, skip, hop, run or cycle around the world, totting up the miles to virtually travel from its flagship site at 1 Cornhill, EC3, to its HQ in St James’s Square, SW1, before the end of May. The money raised will help The Felix Project, the charity tackling hunger by rescuing surplus food, and NHS Charities Together.
