Charity and social: Teams take a deep dive into 70km swim

Some of the industry’s commercial agents and landlords are gearing up for one of the toughest challenges in open-water swimming this September – a 70km race across Lake Geneva.

As part of their preparation for the event, the three teams have so far undertaken a series of competitive swims, including a 1km 13ºC “taster” at the Royal Docks in London and a 10km swim in 17ºC water without wetsuits. They were also due to take part in this year’s JLL Property Swim “sprint” on 1 July.

The Geneva 70 challenge is raising funds for four charities: the Charlie Waller Trust for mental health, Macmillan Cancer Support, Muscular Dystrophy UK and First Touch, the neonatal charity at St George’s Hospital in Tooting.

The event’s headline sponsor is Hollis, in partnership with CMS and the Office Agents Society.

SEGRO’s UK staff give back to the community

More than 120 SEGRO employees came together on 24 June for the company’s annual Day of Giving – a day dedicated to volunteering and delivering community projects that will improve the lives of people in the areas where it operates.

Nine projects were chosen across Berkshire, South Buckinghamshire and the London boroughs of Ealing, Brent and Enfield, with a focus on improving local neighbourhoods and the environment. Highlights included clearing and gardening along Jubilee River in Slough and sorting food deliveries at City Harvest in Acton Park (pictured).
