Charity and social: St Modwen does homework for local school

Cam Everlands Primary School in Gloucestershire has had its preschool unit transformed during the spring half term by St Modwen Homes. 

The housebuilder and its contractors donated materials and labour to refurbish the preschool unit.

 The site was equipped with a new kitchen and freshly painted walls, improving and brightening the environment for pupils to learn in.


MAPP mounts Everest for Resurgo

Nigel Mapp, chief executive at Mapp, is traveling to the Arctic Circle in May on an expedition of the Svalbard archipelago.

He will canoe to the remote glacial terrain over seven days, and climb the height of Everest. 

He is fundraising for charitable project Resurgo, which works to help disadvantaged young people aged between 16 and 24.

Two-year effort by CBRE raises £1m 

CBRE has raised more than £1million for its charity partner Action for Children in the last two years. 

The funding, which has been raised through corporate donations, pro bono support and employee fundraising, has helped fund six specialist transition workers across the UK, providing support to young people leaving foster care and transitioning to independent living.


Apprentice award for Chestertons

Training provider Apprenticeship Connect has presented Chestertons with the prestigious award of Employer of the Year for 2019. 

The accolade has been given in recognition of the extensive training, support and development opportunities offered through the apprenticeship programme by the employer.

Chestertons first partnered with Apprenticeship Connect in 2014, and has supported 25 apprentices in the past six years, of which 14 now work at Chestertons as permanent employees.

Celebrating fresh ideas with tomorrow’s leaders

The achievements of property’s rising stars will be celebrated at the BPF Futures Tomorrow’s Leaders Awards, on 6 May at Science Gallery London, SE1. In addition to the official awards ceremony, there will be an extra award presentation on the night. A tradition to be proud of at the PROPS Awards  

The 2020 PROPS Awards, which raises money for children’s charity Variety, will be held on 12 May at London Hilton Park Lane, W1. The event was first held in 1992 and has since raised more than £10.5m for the charity. For more details, click here.
