Charity and social: Redrow cheers up Chester

Redrow is giving good causes in Chester the opportunity to share in a £10,000 community fund.

The charitable enterprise, which coincides with the launch of the housebuilder’s King’s Moat Garden Village development, aims to support local schools, clubs and community projects.

Since 2016 Redrow has gifted more than £100,000 to community projects across the North West.

Zoopla staff raise £66,000

Staff at Zoopla raised more than £66,000 to support over 40 charitable organisations in 2019.

Zoopla teams throughout the UK took part in a skydive, 25km trek in the Brecon Beacons, charity football match, the New Forest Half Marathon, and a 12-hour gaming session. The firm added to the total by matching fundraising totals and employee pay donations.


Oxford college seeks makeover

The Royal Institute of British Architects has launched a competition to update the Grade II listed dining hall at Oxford’s Somerville College.

The hall struggles to meet its present-day needs and the college is seeking a multi-disciplinary design team to develop innovative acoustic, lighting and ventilation systems.

The application entry deadline for the preliminary briefing paper is 16 March.

Five shortlisted teams for the £400,000 project will each receive £6,000 to participate in the contest’s design phase.

Colliers launches graduate scheme

Colliers International has partnered with the RICS to launch an international graduate scheme.  The EMEA real estate graduate scheme will give participants the opportunity to work in the UK, France, Germany, Poland Denmark and the UAE while they train to achieve their MRICS designation.

Applications will open in September 2020 and the first intake will begin in September 2021.

Places Foundation supports Big Issue Invest with £325,000 loan

Places Foundation has supported social investor Big Issue Invest with a loan of £325,000 to help up to 20 social enterprises in England and Scotland over the next five years.

Places Foundation is an independent charity supported by property management company Places for People Group.

Clerkenwell Design Week returns for its 11th year from 19 to 21 May. Colliers Bristol TRYathlon

The 2020 Colliers Bristol TRYathlon will be supporting food redistribution charity FareShare South West. The event will take place on Friday 29 May at Tockington Manor School near Bristol. Prideview Cricketers’ Cup
