A charity golf day and auction hosted by construction firm Pexhurst has raised £3,000 for LandAid. A group of 45 golfers took to the greens at the Centurion Club in St Albans, including clients from JLL and Cushman & Wakefield. This was followed by an online auction that included a framed boxing glove signed by heavyweight world champion Tyson Fury.
Could you be a mentor?
The Greater London Authority and Mount Anvil have launched the mentoring arm of their Makers & Mentors scheme. The mentorship programme is open to anyone working or interested in the development and construction sector.
The scheme hopes to equalise and diversify the industry, encourage new talent into the sector, and support individuals in their career path.
At a virtual launch event with Tom Copley, deputy mayor for housing and residential development, Mount Anvil managing director Darragh Hurley, said: “There’s a risk that as times get tough more people get left behind. Makers & Mentors gives each of us the chance to both learn and contribute to equality of opportunity for all Londoners.”

Steptober kicks off as record numbers walk the walk
LandAid’s annual Steptober challenge is off to a flying start, with a record number of participants.
More than 800 steppers have begun the challenge, which is backed by headline sponsor Logicor and sector sponsors EG, Grainger, Hollis, Michael Sparks Associates and OakNorth.
As the challenge heads towards the halfway mark, it’s a chance to invigorate, step up your steps and focus on wellbeing, whether listening to a podcast or music on your walk, or taking some time out of your busy day to appreciate nature.
The challenge, which is raising money for LandAid’s mission to end youth homelessness, has so far raised more than £50,000 and climbing.
There is still time to sign up, go to LandAid Steptober
