Charity and social: Around the Greystar globe in 80 days

Greystar has embarked on a global summer charity challenge to raise £50,000 for children’s charity Kids, which provides support to young people with disabilities and their families.

Spearheaded by the global resi investor’s UK team, the “Around the Greystar globe in 80 days” challenge has seen employees and the firm’s partners run, walk, cycle, swim, mow, push prams and wade upstream fly fishing in an attempt to visit all 61 of its corporate offices virtually – a total distance of 39,440 miles.

The team has completed nearly 19,000 miles to date and is on track to hit its target distance in the allotted time.

Whittaker cycles Blighty

James Whittaker, strategic development director at Peel L&P, has cycled the entire coast of Britain raising funds to help WaterAid provide clean water to vulnerable African communities.

He completed his Cycle Blighty Challenge in 31 days, riding more than 3,500 miles.

Whittaker’s two years of dedicated training paid off – on crossing the end point of his challenge next to St Andrews Golf Course in Scotland, he had smashed his target of £25,000 to raise a total of £52,000 for charity. The event’s main sponsor, Morson Group, donated more than £10,000.
