QUESTION TIME: The contentious notion of the South West powerhouse, Wales’ place in the UK and how to attract inward investors dominated the first Estates Gazette Cardiff Question Time on 4 June.

More than 100 people headed to Cardiff City Hall on 4 June to hear a heated debate on the idea of the Welsh capital forming a powerhouse alongside Newport, Bristol and the Severn Estuary region, in order to counterbalance the northern powerhouse and the growing political weight of Scotland.

The panellists:
Ken Poole – head of economic development, City of Cardiff council and director, Cardiff Business Council
Russell Loveland – portfolio director, Land Securities, on behalf of the St David’s Partnership
Chris Potts – director of planning, Savills
Caroline O’Flaherty – partner, commercial property at Hugh James
Rhodri Talfan Davies – director, BBC Cymru Wales
Chaired by Damian Wild, Editor, Estates Gazette
