Canary Wharf Group launches Eden Dock

Canary Wharf Group has launched its Eden Dock urban greenery project in collaboration with the Eden Project.

The project will boost the Canary Wharf area’s biodiversity through the addition of more than 20 live art works, green spaces and extensive planting around the dock’s waters.

It will, according to the group, also provide benefits in terms of the wellbeing and productivity of local workers, since research shows that people are more relaxed, creative and innovative when they work near green spaces or water.

Shobi Khan, chief executive at CWG, said: “Three years ago, we partnered with world-leading charity the Eden Project to help address biodiversity loss in cities through the greening of Canary Wharf.

“Eden Dock is the first of its kind – a best-in-practice global example of how we can support biodiversity gain in cities and pioneer places where nature and people can both thrive. It’s about creating a resilient environment that supports the wellbeing of our community and the environment.”
