VIDEO: The population of Cambridge is forecast to increase by 25% in the next 15 years as more multinational companies set up operations in the area.
But with an already congested road network and barely enough homes, the city needs to take urgent action to benefit from the tech boom.
Panellists at Estates Gazette’s recent Question Time in Cambridge said development in peripheral areas needed to go hand-in-hand with efforts to improve roads and public transport.
The audience also heard that Cambridge has little to fear from the rise of Tech City, with occupier demand from the biotechnology and IT sectors so strong that east London’s tech cluster is “complementary” to the university city.
