Cadogan, the property group that owns large parts of Chelsea and Kensington, has named hired a former Hammerson director as its first sustainability manager ahead of launching a new 10-year sustainability plan.
Kate Neale’s new role will focus on sustainability issues across the company’s 93-acre estate. She will work in asset management director Clare Barber’s team and report to place manager Steve Medway.
Neale spent four years at Hammerson, where she was environmental and energy manager. Before that she worked at Marks & Spencer, where she held roles focused on energy and real estate.
Neale said: “These last few months have accelerated the green agenda and cemented people’s desire to do good and support organisations that take sustainability and community seriously.”
Cadogan is preparing to launch a new 10-year sustainability strategy that will include making the area’s historic buildings as efficient as possible, as well as minimising water consumption and waste generation.
Chief executive Hugh Seaborn said: “Sustainability has long been a core part of Cadogan’s strategic objectives and will grow in importance dramatically as we look ahead to the next 10 years. Kate’s contribution to our stewardship strategy will be invaluable in helping us to introduce new, tech-driven solutions to minimise ourselves environmental impact and leave a meaningful sustainability legacy for future generations.”
