Dowley Turner Real Estate was launched in February 2010, by former Holley Blake and CBRE directors Keith Dowley and David Turner.
Starting life with six staff, the firm quickly recruited a further two partners in July 2010, with John Adcock and Richard Harman joining from CBRE. By the end of 2010, headcount reached nine – seven fee-earners and two support staff.
The founders believed a niche agency, development and investment practice, focusing primarily on the industrial and office sectors in the South East, would be successful – and they were right. By the end of March 2011, turnover was around £3m.
The year’s highlights included working on the Chiswick Park acquisition, the Dunhill Portfolio acquisition and the Lojix portfolio sale. In its development funding work, the firm worked on Grange Park, Northampton, Aero Park in Farnborough and the ex-Pfizer HQ in Taplow, Maidenhead.
From an agency perspective, the firm has gained almost 11m sq ft of instructions – 1m sq ft of existing buildings and 10m sq ft of design-and-build opportunities.
