BSkyB takes 40,000 sq ft in Newcastle

Broadcaster BSkyB has taken 40,000 sq ft in the first letting at Moonglade Holdings’ speculative Wellbar Central office scheme in Newcastle.

The broadcaster will operate a call centre from three floors within the 120,000 sq ft building.

The £60m Wellbar Central, owned by the London-based Siddiqui family, has stood empty since it was completed in late 2009.

A BSkyB spokesman said: “The customer contact centre at Wellbar Central will provide an excellent working environment and exciting opportunities for the teams who will be based there and we look forward to welcoming them to the new site in the autumn.”
