Private bank Brown Shipley is relocating to Allied London’s
£1.5bn Spinningfields office district in Manchester.
The 200-year-old company is moving 80 staff to 14,500 sq ft at 3 Hardman Street. The relocation will be complete in September.
The rent has not been disclosed but it is understood that Brown Shipley is paying around £28 per sq ft.
Michael Ingall, chief executive of Allied London, said: “
We are delighted that Brown Shipley is moving to Spinningfields, they are an important organisation and fit directly with the type of customer for whom we developed 3 Hardman Street. Brown Shipley is one of the most focused private banks in the city of Manchester and we want to see them prosper and grow.
“This is a time for change and preparation for the next economic cycle and our buildings are helping both client and non-client facing organisations do just that.
“This is the second important letting for the city in the first quarter of 2010. Both of these lettings have been at Spinningfields and I believe this reflects both Manchester’s and Spinningfields’ resilience and is a sign that people in the city are getting back to serious business.”
