British Land’s former head of development, Nigel Webb, has joined the board of Barratt Developments.
Webb, who left British Land in June, will become an independent non-executive director on the housebuilder’s board from the beginning of October.
He had worked at British Land since 1992, and was a member of the REIT’s executive committee. At British Land he was responsible for delivering the group’s ESG strategy, including developing all new buildings to net zero embodied carbon.
Barratt chair Caroline Silver said: “Nigel will bring a wealth of property investment and development experience and ESG strategy expertise, which will complement the skills of the other board members and will be of great value to the company over the coming years.”
Webb said he was delighted to be part of “a financially and operationally strong company that is leading the industry in terms of both quality and sustainability whilst putting its customers at the heart of everything it does”.
