British Land to launch tenant app in Broadgate

British Land is launching an app for tenants of its London sites, starting with its Broadgate campus in the Square Mile.

The listed landlord has partnered with Equiem, a proptech business, on an app that will provide users with curated content about the sites, including their shops and restaurants, as well as providing touch-free access to offices and amenities.

The app, which will combine Equiem’s existing tenant experience app with British Land’s Vicinitee property management platform, will be rolled out to the 26,000 people based at Broadgate.

British Land hopes the initiative will be particularly useful for companies as they start to return to their workplaces from lockdown, as it will include information on the occupancy and air quality in their buildings, and allow them to book meeting rooms.

Julian Barker, British Land’s head of smart places, said: “The role of technology in creating better-quality, healthier and more sustainable real estate for our customers and their people is now even more important as a result of Covid-19. Our aim is to make people central to the process and build a real sense of community through the app.”
