British Land has lodged a planning application seeking to transform Euston Tower, NW1, into a life sciences and innovation hub.
The move comes after the plans were revealed by the company in July last year.
The proposals, which were submitted to Camden Council just before Christmas, will see deconstruction of the 36-storey 1960s tower to allow development of an 835,000 sq ft science, technology and innovation building. About 31% of the structure of the existing building will be retained.
British Land aims to create workspaces in the London’s Knowledge Quarter for businesses of all sizes, including flexible incubator and accelerator spaces, to support start-ups, scale-ups and knowledge sharing.
The newly-built 32-storey tower would comprise 541,370 sq ft of offices, 263,673 sq ft of lab-enabled space, and 29,611 sq ft of retail and community space.
The scheme is targeting BREEAM Outstanding for offices and BREEAM Excellent for retail spaces.
