British Land moves see Cariaga heading up resi

British Land has made a series of changes to its top team, including naming Emma Cariaga its new head of residential.

The FTSE 100 REIT said Cariaga would take on the new role alongside her existing post as joint head of Canada Water.

The company has also named Broadgate boss David Lockyer head of campuses, overseeing its sites at Regent’s Place and Paddington Central, while David Walker has been appointed chief operating officer.

Cariaga joined British Land in 2014 as residential development director. She joined the executive committee in 2019 and now oversees the Canada Water project alongside Roger Madelin.

Lockyer has worked at the company since 2010 and has run the Broadgate campus for the past five years.

Walker has previously been the REIT’s head of investor relations and, more recently, interim chief financial officer after Simon Carter’s promotion to chief executive.
