British Land lets Broadgate space to cybersecurity firm

Cybersecurity firm Mimecast has signed a 15-year lease for 79,000 sq ft at British Land’s 1FA building in Broadgate, EC2.

This latest letting equates to 32% of the office space of the building, which is being refurbished.

Mimecast employs more than 500 staff in London and the new office will allow for continued expansion of the business.

1FA is undergoing a major refurbishment to provide 247,000 sq ft of new work space and 40,000 sq ft of retail and restaurant space as well as the City of London’s first boutique cinema.

David Lockyer, head of Broadgate at British Land, said: “Mimecast is a fantastic addition to the already changing mix of occupiers at Broadgate.”

Neil Murray, co-founder and chief technical officer at Mimecast, said: “The restaurants, shops and roof terraces within the building, and the relaxed outdoor space of Finsbury Avenue Square, will create an enviable working environment to help attract the best of Europe’s largest pool of tech talent.”

Cushman & Wakefield acted for Mimecast and British Land was advised by CBRE and JLL.
