BPF names new sustainability committee chair

The British Property Federation has named Sophie Goddard, director of ESG at Canary Wharf Group, as chair of its own sustainability committee. Goddard will take the role later this autumn, taking over from Katherine Sherwin, head of sustainable investing at Blackrock.  Goddard joined CWG in late 2021 from Balfour Beatty, where she was head of environment, sustainability and social value. She joined CWG as director of sustainability, becoming director of ESG at the start of this year. “Our sector has a critical role to play in tackling climate change and helping the new government meet its net zero ambitions,” Goddard said. “The challenges we face in decarbonising and adapting our buildings cannot be understated. However, I know there is huge progress being made right across the industry and I look forward to working closely with the BPF to accelerate progress and ensure that the sector’s voice on sustainability is heard and respected.”
