Boxpark is preparing to open Boxhall City, the first outlet for a new food hall business, at London Liverpool Street, EC2.
The hospitality group has signed a 15-year deal with Places for London, the property company of Transport for London, to open Boxhall City at the 14,000 sq ft Metropolitan Arcade, a shopping arcade by Liverpool Street station, in spring 2025.
The site will also include a 3,000 sq ft roof terrace available for private hire and corporate events.
The food hall will feature up to 13 kitchens ranging from 150 sq ft to 400 sq ft, alongside two bars, with room for 600 guests on the ground floor and 200 on the roof terrace.
Applications are now open for food and drink operators with a minimum of two years’ experience in operation.
The site will be Boxpark’s first venue in a series of Boxhall openings planned for cities across the UK over the next five years.
Ben McLaughlin, chief operating officer at Boxpark, said: “We have seen immense success with our award-winning Boxpark concept, and are incredibly proud to have played a role in the success and growth of a huge number of our popular street food brands.
“Now, we are excited to see similar success with our Boxhall City destination. Unlike our Boxpark sites, Boxhall City will re-animate a historic slice of London.”
Dan Lovatt, director of asset management at Places for London, said: “Both Boxpark and Places for London have small and medium-sized businesses at the heart of their work, and we are looking forward to seeing the thousands of people who pass through Liverpool Street every day get to explore this new location.”
