MIPIM UK: Veteran cycling supremo Chris Boardman is to open a new state-of-the-art wind tunnel at The Valley in Evesham, Worcestershire. Plans for the circa 60,000 sq ft development, which will also include Boardman’s HQ, a concept store for his brand of bicycles, a performance testing lab and event space, is set to go before planners in the next few weeks.
Boardman said: “Creating a performance centre that is truly accessible to everyone has been a dream of mine since the early 1990s. When I was racing I was able to see the effect of every choice I made. Now that opportunity will be available to all, be they sportive rider or Tour de France contender.”
The plans have been submitted by developer Eagle One and designed by Craig Foster Architects.
