BNP Paribas Real Estate has hired a new valuations director from Eddisons, based in its Newcastle office.
Jason Smith (pictured) brings more than 25 years’ experience in the valuation of all types of commercial properties, with specialist knowledge of the hospitality and leisure, healthcare, medical and retail sectors.
He was a director at Eddisons from 2019, and prior to that gained 10 years’ experience at Christie & Co.
Aidan Baker, head of BNP Paribas Real Estate’s Newcastle office, said the need for accurate valuations was “ever important in an illiquid and competitive market”.
Smith’s appointment follows Jim Crafford taking on the new role of head of valuation UK in May, following a decade with BNP Paribas Real Estate and Strutt & Parker.
