BNP Paribas Real Estate has appointed Paul Nicholls to lead its new central London development team.
He will drive the firm’s development and planning strategy, and will support the commercial London markets team, with a focus on residential development and investment, alternatives and hotels.
His appointment was tipped by EG earlier this year, when he left CBRE after nearly 18 years with the agent.
Nicholls was most recently senior director, focusing on land transactions and consultancy advice.
Notable transactions he has been involved in include the purchase of Royal Mint Court, EC3, for the Chinese Embassy and the sales of the former Middlesex Hospital, W1, and 49 Park Lane, W1.
Stephen Wolfe, head of commercial at BNP Paribas Real Estate, said: “Paul’s arrival will allow us to centralise our development consultancy advice for all use classes across central London boroughs.
“With the Government’s new planning proposals and the challenges presented by Covid-19, access to strategic advice that will offer a holistic view for projects is more important than ever.”
