BNP PRE appoints national head of affordable housing

BNP Paribas Real Estate has hired James Barrett from developer Lifestory Group to head up its affordable housing offer.

Barrett joins as national head of affordable housing and will be based in the Bristol office. At Lifestory Group he was senior land manager, responsible for acquiring development sites across the South West for the creation of later living apartments. Prior to this, he was senior land manager for the southern region at Clarion Housing Group.

Barrett’s appointment is the latest within senior director Tom Stanley’s national development and planning team, which now totals more than 65 people as he rolls out the firm’s strategy to meet increasing demand for infrastructure and regeneration project support across the UK.

Stanley joined BNP Paribas Real Estate as head of development and planning from Knight Frank in the summer.
