Bloor Homes received approval for the development of 800 homes at Willen Road in Newport Pagnell, near Milton Keynes, in a planning meeting last night (5 January).
The motion passed successfully after a close vote of six in favour of the development and five against, owing to fears of flooding in the area.
The 114-acre site forms part of the wider Milton Keynes East Strategic Urban Extension and is located north-east of the M1. It currently comprises arable farmland and pasture.
As well as the building of 800 one, two and three-bedroom homes, 30% of which will be affordable, the scheme also includes the development of a local centre, primary school and green space.
