BHS is on the brink of administration this morning after failed attempts to find a last-minute backer.
The clothing and homewares retailer, which operates 164 stores across the UK, has been seeking a backer in recent weeks after it failed to meet the conditions of a company voluntary agreement.
Duff & Phelps was expected to be appointed as administrator to the firm today after talks with Sports Direct did not result in a deal, according to the Sunday Times.
Retail Acquisitions, which bought BHS last year, had agreed a £60m loan with specialist lender Gordon Brothers, but it has not been able to secure the funds.
