Berkshire’s historic Aldermaston Park for sale

Aldermaston-Park

Aldermaston Park near Reading in Berkshire has been put up for sale.

The 139-acre estate includes a Grade II listed manor house, an 85,000 sq ft office headquarters and five listed lodge buildings set in private parkland with a lakeside setting. A 45-acre cricket pitch and pavilion is also included.

Once part of the royal hunting estate of Windsor, the park was given to Sir Robert Archard in 1110 by King Henry I. The principal house, Aldermaston Manor, was built in the late 1840s and was most recently used as a luxury 33-suite hotel.

Tom Forman, associate at Carter Jonas, said: “Aldermaston Park is a mixture of historically significant and architecturally innovative buildings and is a unique opportunity for one buyer. We expect to receive interest from a wide range of parties as assets of this calibre rarely come to the market.”
